Whoever thought cabbages could be alluring? Ju Duoqi, a promising young artist from Beijing, China saw the seductive potential of the humble cabbage. A graduate of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, she worked as a website, computer game designer, and finally as a freelance artist. Her chosen medium seems to be vegetables, becoming famous for her “Vegetable Museum”. In this series entitled “The Fantasies of Chinese Cabbage”, she uses a variety of cabbages and slicing techniques to recreate icons like Marilyn Monroe and Lady Gaga.
